We know how much you love the original Lku Microwave Grill - in fact, we struggled to keep it on our shelves. But then you started asking us for a bigger version. So, happy to oblige, we went to Lku to see what they could do and here it is. The XL. This larger grill has all the benefits of its smaller counterpart, but with a larger grilling area so you can cook twice as much at once - or make one huge toasted sandwich. Good, right?

Perfect results

We've all done it - microwaved a greasy, salty ready meal because it was quick and convenient, and then been disappointed with the results. But thanks to the innovative design of Lku's extra-large microwaveable grill - the two metal plates of the grill transfer heat to your freshly prepared food, not only cooking it, but browning it to perfection with authentic griddle lines - you can make food that looks and tastes as good as you would get from a counter-top grill, and quickly too.

What can you cook?

Well, quite a lot, actually. Sausages, steaks, veg, fish - you could even cook strips of chicken or beef with peppers for delicious and super-simple fajitas. And unlike some microwave cookers that just heat or steam, which can leave food looking pale and a bit unappetising (nobody likes a pale sausage), the XL actually browns your food properly. The adjustable silicone loops at the side of the grill allow it to adapt to different sizes of food, so whether you're grilling fat juicy burgers or a few spears of asparagus, it'll do the job perfectly. And let's not forget toasties

Toasted sarnies - made in a microwave?

Who doesn't love a toasted sandwich? Properly toasted, crunchy golden bread; ham, gooey cheese and a dollop of tangy chutney irresistible. Well, as good as electric toasted sandwich makers are, they take up loads of worktop space, can be slow to heat up, are fiddly to clean and - worst of all - can sometimes leak out all that yummy filling. Plus, they're a bit of a one-trick pony - unlike the XL, which cooks a huge range of food and is also easy to store thanks to its compact design.

How do I use it?

Before you start cooking you'll need to preheat the grill. Put it your microwave for three minutes (you can use this time to prep your food), then carefully place your food on the bottom grill, rest the upper grill panel on top and secure it in place with the stretchy silicone loops. Put the grill back into your microwave and cook your food according to the timings in the included booklet and you're ready to tuck in. Lku have designed the removable silicone handles with raised stay-cooler' ribs to aid heat insulation, but please do use oven gloves to lift the grill as it does get very hot.

Easy to clean

Made from non-stick-coated aluminium and silicone, it's really easy to clean once you've enjoyed your food. You can dunk it in a sink of soapy water, or even put it in the top rack of a dishwasher, and the chunky silicone handles are really easy to pop on and off, too. Please note: we recommend the grill is cleaned and dried thoroughly after each use.

Perfectly timed

Wondering how soon you can eat? Here's a quick guide to timings after preheating the grill for 3 minutes, based on a 900W microwave - timings will vary depending on your microwave.

• Beef burger - 10 minutes.
• Sausages - 12 minutes.
• Veggie burger - 10 minutes.
• Salmon fillet - 10 minutes.
• Chicken breast - 10 minutes.
• Asparagus - 10 minutes.

Included booklet contains approximate timings and 8 recipes to get you started.
