Preparing fresh pineapples can be a prickly business, leading to many of us reaching for the tinned variety. But what if enjoying fresh pineapple could be as easy and convenient as opening a can? Thanks to this rather nifty Pineapple Slicer and Wedger, it can be! Peeling, coring, slicing and wedging a pineapple in seconds, this clever kitchen gadget works like a corkscrew to prepare rings, slices or chunks.

How it works

The toothed centre acts as a pineapple corer cutting out the fibrous centre, and the outer serrated and inner angled plastic blades act as a pineapple cutter, slicing through the flesh as you turn the handle, creating a single spiral right down to the base of your pineapple that's all juicy fruit with no chewy core or tough skin. Simply cut the spiky hairy bit off the top of your pineapple with a knife, pop the corer on top of your pineapple and twist the handle. Pull on the handle to remove the fruit, then push down on the wedger widget to cut into salad-ready chunks.
